How to Apply to the Lower School
91探花 welcomes applications for Kindergarten through Grade 5. Our planned entry points for the Lower School are Kindergarten and Grade 4, but spaces in other grades occasionally become available.

Schedule an Appointment
A parent/guardian interview is required for all admission candidates applying to one of our planned entry points (Kindergarten and Grade 4) and must be completed by January 15. Parents/guardians are invited to campus for a tour with a current lower school parent, followed by an interview with an admission counselor. Please allow 90 minutes for this appointment.
You may schedule your Parent/Guardian Tour and Interview through your Ravenna portal starting in September.
To best meet the needs of our families, we are also offering limited virtual interviews via Zoom. Starting in September, please call the Lower and Middle School Admission Office, at 617-898-2509, to schedule a virtual interview.
*Appointments fill up quickly, so we encourage you to schedule your visit as soon as possible. Families with more than one applicant should only sign up for one appointment slot.*

Create an Account
To begin, you will need to either log into your , or create a new account. Once logged in, you will see a list of 鈥淎pplication Steps鈥, describing all of the 91探花 Admission required elements. You can check back as often as you wish to see an updated list of materials we have received and items that have been checked off. Through the Ravenna hub you can:
- Manage your application
- Initiate requests for recommendations and school reports
- Schedule a Tour/Interview, as well as register for other relevant events
- View decision letter on March 10
While we encourage families to begin the application process before the deadline, completed applications are due by January 15, 2027.
Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee of $65 for domestic applicants and $125 USD for international applicants must be submitted online, along with your application, using Visa, Mastercard or Discover. Fee waivers are available if the fee represents a financial hardship for your family. Please contact the Lower and Middle School Admission Office for details.
School Reports
In your , you will be able to authorize the release of academic records from the current and past year to your applicant鈥檚 school/s.
Teacher Recommendation
The AISNE form is a confidential document that must be sent to us directly from your child鈥檚 school or teachers. You can request this recommendation via an online form in your 鈥淎pplication Steps鈥 instructions in . Additionally, there is an optional, supplemental recommendation form that can be filled out by a former teacher, coach, tutor, instructor, etc.
Kindergarten Individual Assessment (Kindergarten applicants only)
Once your child鈥檚 application is submitted, we will contact you to schedule an individual assessment appointment.
Group Visits (Kindergarten and Grade 4 only)
All applicants for Kindergarten and Grade 4 will be scheduled for a Group Visit. This visit is assigned upon receipt of the online application. The Group Visit is an essential part of the admission process. It provides an opportunity for the prospective students to learn more about 91探花, and for our admission officers to get to know each applicant.
Please note that this visit can be waived for applicants who are applying from out of state or internationally.

During the first phase of the selection process, admission officers read each application in a 鈥渘eed-blind鈥 review that does not consider a candidate鈥檚 ability to pay as a factor in their evaluations. However, the final phase of the selection process is 鈥渘eed-aware,鈥 as the admission committee weighs its decisions against available financial aid funds. 91探花 strives to meet 100 percent of the demonstrated need of each candidate offered admission.
